Steve Chadaway drew with Garry Evans on board 2. Roger Threlfall had an advantage on board 3, but Warren Archibald held the centre and eventually, there was deadlock. Mike Hollier on top board struggled early on against Tayeb Kazemi, but as the game progressed, he got back in the game and won. Richard Evans on board 5 lost badly against Jim Gillespie, but Tony Mulrey in his first match on six won well against Dave reeves. Tom Evans on board 4 was winning but ran short of time against Rory Lynas. Tom wasn't able to finish the game and lost on time.
Olton v Shirley
Tayeb Kazemi lost on top board, while Garry Evans drew on two. Warren Archibald also drew on board 3 and Rory Lynas lost on four. Jim Gillespie lost on board 5 and Tony Mulrey on six was doing well, but went wrong and lost.
Lichfield v Olton
Olton could only raise 4 players on the night. Garry Evans frew on top board, but Warren Arhibald lost on board 2 and Jim Gillespie lost on three. Tony Mulrey did well to win on board 4.
